SUGAR COOKIES

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 sticks salted butter, room temperature

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar

  • 1 egg, room temperature

  • 1 tsp vanilla bean extract

  • 1 3/4 tsp almond extract

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 3 cups all purpose flour

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a stand mixer, beat butter on medium speed for 3 minutes.

  2. Add the softened cream cheese and beat for an additional 2 minutes.

  3. Add the sugar and beat for 2 minutes.

  4. Add the egg, vanilla, and almond extract and beat well.

  5. Add the salt and flour and beat only until combined.

  6. Place the dough onto plastic wrap, and place another piece of plastic wrap over top. Roll the dough out until it is 1/4 inch thick. Place in the fridge for 2 hours.

  7. Preheat oven to 350 F.

  8. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  9. Remove top plastic wrap and roll to smooth wrinkles.

  10. Cut out shapes using cookie cutters and place on baking sheet.

  11. Bake for 12 minutes.
